This is very strange. We have made no changes to the connection code except one issue with HTTP Tunneling which sometimes slowed down the processing.

Ritesh, as I noted elsewhere, but also here as it's “on topic”, I have seen the “sudden shutdown” problem when configuring the checkbox to disable autocomplete. The moment I clicked the checkbox, sqlyog vanishes without trace.

    This is not repeatable!!

This is reproducable and we have already fixed in BETA 6 (official news in another half an hour).

    5. I tried to configure sqlyog to disable autocomplete. But the moment I clicked the checkbox to disable autocomplete, sqlyog disappeared suddenly. This is A DIFFERENT problem that is being discussed elsewhere on this forum.

This is indeed a bug and has been fixed in BETA 6 (official news is out in another half an hour). We are still not able to reproduce the hang problem though.

Anybody who can give us temporary access to the effected server? This is a sincere request as we are just unable to reproduce this error. We have 10 MySQL servers starting from v3.23.58 to 5.1.6 installed at our end and we are able to connect to them without any problem.

I have added this in the TO-DO list of v5.2. This should be an easy fix but we dont plan to implement it in v5.1.

    Hello,

I'm using SQLyog Pro 5.02 and found a bug in the table context menu -> duplicate table structure/data

If the table I want to copy has a column which is a reserved word (in my case, i have a column named “unique”), SQLyog don't add the ` (backquotes) to escape it and the query fails.

Similarly, the function to export a database as SQL statements (Tools->Export blablah, or database context menu) fails if the database name contains a – (hyphen), which is allowed in DB name, but must be escaped when using the db.table syntax (e.g. my-base.my_table => `my-base`.my_table or with all escaped => `my-base`.`my_table`)

The best way to avoid this kind of bug is escaping all the table , columns and database names.

    Thanks in advance 😉

The second point was a bug and has been fixed in BETA 6 (we are not releasing RC as we still feel lot of issues are unresolved).

The first problem, we are not able to reproduce. Can you give us more info e.g. MySQL version, tunnel or direct connection, SQLyog version?

When we first designed SQLyog, we followed desings and keyboard shortcuts like MS SQL Server. We plan to make keyboard shortcuts configurable in one of the future versions of SQLyog.

This issue has been reported many times. I think there is indeed some problem.

    @chris
, @lazylester: Is there anyway that you can provide us with temporary access to the server?

Also, the issue might occur due to the newly implemented Auto-complete option. Can you try disabling Auto-complete and reconnect?

Yes by DATA TAB i meant TABLE DATA. We have been reported many crash reports while using DATA TAB. We are working on it.

SQLyog is a MySQL client. It can connect to any MySQL server running on any OS. You can migrate your MySQL to Linux platform and still you should be able to work with SQLyog.

I am not sure by what you mean by customization to SQLyog. Do you mean the connection details that you entered in SQLyog? SQLyog is a Windows client. Though it can run under WINE emulator in Linux. More details on running it under WINE can be found at: http://www.webyog.com/faq/31_71_en.html
