Hi,
I would want you to confirm the following things:
Quote:Firstly, SQLYog doesn't appear to recognize named ranges in Excel, so data imports include large numbers of columns not needed in the import (and the un-ticking of the unwanted columns is tedious).Do you want SQlyog to filter columns based on the Named ranges so that the user can select them with ease while importing???
Quote:Secondly, when the data type changes within an excel column (i.e. from text to number formatted as text) I get NULLS in the resultant mySQL table. In this case, it's a very important omission.Could you please tell us the version of SQLyog you are using?? Lots of issues in Import External Data with the older versions were fixed in the newly released version. And can you elaborate more on this and try and share the excel sheet that is causing issues if possible. We tried with various cases at our end but we are not able to figure out what is going wrong in your case 🙁
Quote:Thirdly, since I had already created the mySQL table beforehand, there was no auto-mapping of column names – I had to go through each column and map the name correctly – also quite tedious. Have I missed something? As i understand in this case do you want the auto mapping to be enabled when the table structure is already created in MYSQL???

AparnaMemberHi,
Thank you for using SQLyog and thanks for your suggestion. Well as of now you need to save the data individually in each of the query tabs before closing SQLyog. I have added this in the issue tracker. Please go through the link below to view the same:
http://code.google.com/p/sqlyog/issues/detail?id=954
We will discuss this in the next team meeting and take this up based on the priority assigned. We will inform you once this has been taken up.

AparnaMemberHi Chilm,
To understand the issue better I would want the following details.
1. The version of SQLyog that you are using.
2. I would request you to send the screen shots of SQLyog in a minimized state and when it is maximized.
3. Please check with the other applications like Internet Explorer and verify if they are behaving in the same way.
Thanks and Regards,
Aparna
AparnaMemberWe tried replicating this in Windows Xp but unfortunately we were not able to do so.
Does this also happen when you minimize and maximize SQLyog?
Also as requested earlier please attach the screen shots before and after the tables go missing in the Query Builder.
Thanks and Regards,
Aparna.
AparnaMemberHi,
We tried with few tables joined to one another in the Query Builder here and seem to have no issues with it. To replicate the issue at our end and check what exactly the problem is we would require the following details:
1. The version of operating system that you are using.
2. SQLyog version that you are using.
3. The number of query builder(Q:cool: tabs that were open.
4. What operations were you performing while the tables disappeared in the Query Builder?
5. Could you please send us screen shots of the Query Builder before and after the tables disappeared.
Thanks and Regards,
Aparna
AparnaMemberHi Larry,
If you want to use the color tabbed feature all you have to do is right click on the Object browser and choose the last option that says 'CHANGE BACKGROUND COLOR'. I have also attached a screen shot to illustrate the same.
Please note that this feature is available only from SQLyog version 8.5 onwards.
