    Hello Mitch,

This cannot be categorised as a bug because after renaming a table from the table-list in the Object browser, please ensure the Object Browser is refreshed (press F5) for the changes to take effect. This would ensure the table data is displayed appropriately.

    Regards,

in reply to: One To Many Schema Sync #35549

    Hello bmreeves,

You can try using the option “Schema Synchronization Tool” to sync the schema of different tables. Also the “Schema Synchronization Tool” generates the script after comparing that can be saved as a sql file and executed at a later time or Schema Synchronization Tool can execute the generated script to sync the schema by clicking on the ‘Execute All’ button.

As far as the Schema Synchronization Tool is concerned, it is not possible to automate the synchronisation process.

    Hello A Stahl,

It is possible to import data from a sql file as a whole, and there isn’t an option to select certain tables to be imported as the sql statements in the sql file are executed as they appear in the file and it is not able to parse only certain statements from a sql file.

Mean while, you can execute the sql script into a database and then perform the sync with the existing database to import certain tables.

In the later imports, you can try backing up the database with “Scheduled Backups” with the option to create separate files for objects by selecting the option “Separate file for each object” under the title “How do you want to generate the script?” in the same dialog that enables you to create a sql backup file for individual table which would help you in the further stages while importing only certain tables into the database.

    Hello carltondickson,

There is a provision to re-run a job at will if the job was saved when it was created for the first time and the same job can be executed by selecting the option “Edit a saved job” from the ‘Visual Data Compare Wizard’ and choose the saved job file that has to re-run.

In ‘Data Synchronisation Wizard’, there is a provision to select the type of synchronisation to be performed by selecting the “Generate script” option that allows the user to view the comparison result(script is generated) and also gives the option to save the generated script to a file and not merge any data as such.

In ‘Data Synchronisation Wizard’, there is also an option to notify the user by mail every-time when a comparison is done with the final result or when an error occurs during comparison.
