    I am not eligible to create a priority support ticket, since my period expired <_< Yes, I'm perfectly sure, as i said “Test connection” works successfully. It's a live database on a specific webhost, so I can't send you the login details, but I can PM you the tunnel URL and the databasename, and you can see what happens.

    Now I tried with 5.23 beta, and the same host and got this:

    Test connection: Connection successful! MySQL version is 4.1.21-standard

    but when i try Connect, it takes a loooooooooooong time, then I get this error:

    Error No 1.

    HTTP Error: Could not connect to the tunneling URL.

    I've tried it from another computer too, no success.

    I've tried both http and https (I got it on my server), no success, but the “Test connection” button still works for both.

    Is there anything I can do to make you test it somehow? If i enter the wrong username/password, the test button gives me “Access denied” but the “Connect”-button still don't work, So I could let you try to connect to my Tunnel on my webhost, if I could reach a developer of yours through MSN or something.

    I see, it's a fair price, but right now SQLYog works perfectly with this version, except for this problem, only on this website.

    I'm not sure that an upgrade now will help me, but I guess I could try the BETA and see if it works.

    Thank you.

    According to my login I can't download a new version:

    2006-01-05 SQLyog Enterprise – Single User

    Upgrade for a special price of $37 Click here 1 Name: Niclas Marie

    Code: Expired product 47

    Is the free upgrade only for one year? ;(

    Ok, I'll try that.. I try not to upgrade too often, cause it's pretty annoying to have to upload a new tunneler each and every time 😮

    Appearently the non-working server is PHP5, and the other is PHP4.. But I'm 99% sure that it worked a week ago.

    Is the tunnel script compatible with php5?

    I actually see that this message is the same on the site where the tunneling works.

    So I guess it's 2 different servers, but on the same webhost. Are there anything more that needs to be setup, or something that the webhost can have/use that blocks my phptunnel?

    Really?

    Why not like this:

    [Categories]

    Cat1=Private

    Cat2=Clients

    Cat3=Work

    [Connection 1]

    Name=Sitename

    Cat=Cat1

    That would be enough to begin with, one level categories. Although a redesign of the site selector would have to be done.

    You could even do like this:

    [Categories]

    Cat1=Private

    Cat1-1=Private Localhost

    Cat1-2=Private Live sites

    Cat2=Clients

    Or is it more complicated than I like to think? 🙂

    I suddenly got the same problem. I usually connect using tunneler, but to one server i connect directly.

    After around 1-2 minute I get it and have to reconnect.

    But one thing here that's interesting. I have an access application that connects to the same database, it never had any problems before, but when I wait 1-2 minutes, the application says ODBC Error: Request failed (translated from swedish)

    So I figure it might be server related after all, or the Access application (which is a bought program, not made by myself) has the same error as SQLYog..

    Any clues about this?

    I use SQLYog 5.12 Beta (Don't know if it's 1 or 2, doesn't say in Help-text)

    I also had this, reported in another thread.

    Today I was browsing some tables on an external DB, when I clicked a new table, the program shut down, i tried to start again and connect to the same DB, app hang. Forced shut down and tried again on localhost, hang.

    Shut down again and tried for the 3rd time on the external DB, and now it worked again.

    No PC reboot. Weird, and annoying.

    hope this helps!

    Weird, then I have no clue why they disappeared when I moved the program.. But it's good, I can back it up now 🙂

    Thanks for the explanation..

    Interesting explanation, but that wasn't really the question.. it was, why isn't the page called http://www.sqlyog.com when the program is SQLYog? 🙂

    S**T! Everything i just typed disappeared. While changing a windows setting it reloaded this window.. 😮

    Grr, I'll retype, maybe shorter:

    It might be hard work to change this but the favorites should be in the same folder as the program, or any folder the user want it to be in. It would have these advantages:

    – You can store sites on an encrypted drive

    – You can run Sqlyog from an USB drive (which could be encrypted)

    – You can easily find the favorites to export/backup

    I just figured something out. What's the difference between “Saved connections” and “Favorites”?

    No wonder my Application Data/SQLYog/Favorites/Personal is empty. I've only been saving everything to “saved connections” (What comes up when you press CTRL-M) and probably that one got lost when I moved the program. But where is the lost data??

    The “connections” got lost when I moved the program from C to E, not a proper uninstall/install.

    Don't know what the disadvantages are by having all the program settings in the same folder as the program, but programs that have stuff saved in documents and settings, registry etc, are usually harder to use, backup and to move to another computer etc.

    The encryption in WindowsXP is bulls–t, cause by using a simple bootable CD, you can change the administrator password and suddenly you have access to everything. I haven't actually tested this on an encrypted disk, but most people think they are secure by having a great admin-password on their WinXP, but it's so easy to “crack”, in case I'm not wrong. 🙂

    Also check out FlashFXP and the password system they got. The “sites.dat” file is stored in the program folder and it's encrypted. When you start the program you must enter a password. By storing all this on an encrypted drive it's nearly impossible to find the passwords.

    A feature like that would really make SQLYog secure, and I wouldn't worry for my computer to be stolen. I'd also be happy if I would know where it saves all “Saved connections”… 🙄

    1+2) Actually i rename the SQLyogTunnel.php to a random name, like SQLyogTunnel739.php to increase security so that “hackers” don't try to access via this.

    The reason that ISP's don't allow direct connection with the db is security, so by putting a SQLyogTunnel.php in the root, we remove that security 🙂

    3+4) I can live with that, didnt take much time!

    5) That was with phpmyadmin, with sqlyog all chars were fine!

    6-8) Ok, got ya, i guess you're working on the bugs then..

    1) 4.0.23-nt on the localhost and 4.1.10 on the external

    2) I only use the latest beta (5), currently on my laptop cause the other one got stolen. It's hard to try different versions cause there are different tunnel-php-files. Didnt try 5.02 in a while.

    3) Oh, I did the arrow things wrong. I only sync in one direction and that's from 4.1 (external w/ tunnel) -> 4.0 (Localhost). In the first host both the external and localhost are 4.0.

    The issue here is a Live system running critical data, which I download to my db to make sure i got the lateest data when developing.

    4) I tried the struct. sync tool which made an SQL in clipboard which I ran on the empty DB on localhost and it created all tables, no errors. Right now the sync is ongoing, but it takes a while. Maybe a slow host.

    5) I don't really know what the UTF-problem is, but I know that I had trouble while using 😆 to sync, and all swedish chars got messed up in the localhost copy. I don't know if I'll get that problem now.

    6) “You can always edit an SQL-file in an editor! Even 'search and replace' UTF-8 encoded special characters with single byte representation”

    Do you mean that the sja creates an SQL-file and stores somewhere during the operation? I still havent read the sja-guide yet that you wrote.. it's kinda long.. 🙄

    7) Another thing that worries me right now is that I'm on a WLAN. What happens if it looses the connection in the middle of a sync? I got a better connection now cause I moved the computer a bit, but i guess it could get broken, or if my ISP has some kind of trouble, during a sync..

    8) The sync is done after 628 sec, but this result worries me:

    `table_name1` 2 0 2 0 0

    `table_name2` 2952 0 952 0 0

    `table_name3` 9148 0 149 0 0

    All tables with more than 1000 rows only shows wrong number of rows inserted. The thousand-digit seems to be missing and in some cases +1, 149 instead of 9148.. WEIRD!

    Let me check the actual data.

    All rows are there, but there are actually 9149 rows in both the source and the target!

    So something is wrong with the display, all rows got copied.

    It looks like I give you headache here 🙂
