    Yes – they have.

they also added some new privileges (that are not yet accesible from sqlyog GUI).

Yes, NOW I have …

My god, I overlooked that totally. But still an option to show icons about 50% bigger would be nice ….

I also think using a spreadsheet application is the best solution. Here you can easily change print layout (column withs, fonts etc.).

Of course a printing feature could be included with sqlyog if it is a user equest, but I believe that formatting for print involves quite a lot of coding. And the time and energy spent with that could be used better.

User management seems to be a problem …

I just changed my “default” MySQL version from 4.1.11 to 5.0.3, and after that user management with “MySQL Administrator” doesn't work. However user management with sqlyog does … 😀

And it is NOT because I didn't update the grant tables.

But I agree that it would be nice to have ALL privileges of a user (global, base, table, column, resources) shown in ONE pane!

    You got'em …

No tunnelling. It's a local database.

And I can add that it seems to be a new issue with ver 4.05.

Neither an old 3.x or 4.04 lines data up along the right edge.

Mysql version doen't matter (tested with 4.1.11 and 5.0.3)

    In my view:

SQLYOG is a GUI, that allows for performing most operations without writng sql (the program does), although it is possible to write and edit sql-statements. I think this program behaves like most users of it would expect. So In my view the program behaves logical. But of course I wouldn't mind an option/setting whether the focus should change or not.

    Ritesh may have other comments.

Besides I like this forum because there normally is a very kind and polite tone here. That's the main reason why I accepted to become a forum moderator here. Please don't change that!

well – and yes – Ritesh has told that an filtering option wil be implemented in 4.1

That reminds me of a couple of things (that different applications mess up):

    1) when performing filtering it should be possible to choose WHETHER filtering is on the whole database as such OR on the data allready shown (that might allready have been SELECTED, FILTERED, SORTED and LIMITED).

    2) the filtering function should have “memory” so that you – for instance from a drop-down-box – may choose a recently used filtering option/combination when it makes sense to do so.

So come on – let's discuss here what we would like this new feature to be like …

Maybe the “personal folder” will be replaced with something more advanced … maybe it could be integrated with a “stored procedures manager” that is also planned for future versions of sqlyog to be active when running mysql 5.x ++

    .. maybe .. maybe …

    OK – thx – it's no hurry.

I just wanted to point your attention to the User Interface of the FILTER options in the OpenOffice ver. 2 database with a simple example.

However it seems that the mail function of the forum isn't working as it should either. About two hours ago I reqested a download link for the final version of sqlyog 4.05 and haven't got it yet …

    yeah .. that's strange.

Latest release is 4.05 beta 5 (released yesterday). Did you try to re-download and reinstall ?

OK, thanks – I think that clarified the problem to everyone!

    I'm afraid I can't help, since I can't reproduce the problem.

I think that Ritesh and the development team now have an opportunity to spot the problem.

It must be be some conflict with the GUI-elements' library that sqlyog is compiled with and your system.

Did you ever experience similar problems with GUI-elements in other programs ?
