ParticipantIt was actually here already: http://code.google.com/p/sqlyog/issues/detail?id=1592 .. but no need to restrict to black and white. A 'dark monitor green' could make sense too for instance.

ParticipantThe latest Service Pack for Office 2007 is SP3. It is downloadable from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=27838
(But we did not manage to check it yesterday. We will do as soon as possible)

ParticipantThis is reproducble for us on a Win7 system where the Excel odbc driver version is 12 (Office 2007). With driver version 14 (Office 2010) it is not.
I don't know if Microsoft has backported this to Office 2007 (we are checking). Do you have all Office 2007 Servicepacks installed?

ParticipantYou posted the same to our ticket system wher I replied “There is no particular reason other than the tool could be smarter in this respect. We will discuss how much effort it would take and when we can 'push in' this.”
I ask you to use either the Forums or the ticket system and not both, For the simple reason that if replies occur randomly multiple places it will be easy to overlook something. We will continue in the ticket system unless your prefer to continue here.

ParticipantI alos think connection is lost due to timeout setting in webserver and/or PHP.
I don't know if the response to the HTTP-request makes it possible to disstinguish the situations (no initial connection versus timeout). Let us check the internals.

ParticipantIt is probably an issue with the driver, but we will check this.

ParticipantI have approved this post (as well as you as a member here) after removing the link. We don't accept such here. You will be banned again if you repeat this.

ParticipantI really do not know what “the regular formatting of mySQL” is. Nothing is more regular than something else as SQL is a computer language where whitespace is insignificant. Are you referring to a specific application – such as Workbench?
If we shall format a CREATE VIEW statement we will have to use our formatting code. and should we do it otherwise we will need to add one more option to the formatter. Then we could as well make it a general option in preferences.
Could you provide an example (what SQLyog does and how youd would like it)? Use the 'code' tag (the “” button on top of this editor). And please make the example as simple as you can.

Participant1)
“.. to emulate the sql formatter”. What is the “SQL formatter” you are referring to?
2)
the *agressivity* depends on your settings, Please check from tools .. preferences .. “SQl Formatter” tab. There is both a 'stacked' and a 'not stacked' option.

ParticipantPlease tell the SQLyog version you are using.
peterlaursen
ParticipantOK .. valid request. We have the SQL formatter in SQLyog (Enterprise and Ultimate editions). We could invoke that. But it will not (necessarily) be the original formatting as entered by user. Formatting will then be according to formatting rules as specified in 'preferences'.
