I noticed this problem again (didn´t rename a user in a long time) after I changed the host a user is allowed to connect from. After a manual “flush privileges” it worked.
MySQL Version : 5.0.51a-24+lenny5-log
I know it is still the old version from Debian Lenny, but if an explicit flush would do no harm in other cases, I would appreciate it, if you simply issued it after renaming.

November 25, 2011 at 7:54 am in reply to: Feature Request: Warn When Dump Contains Use Statement #32874larsenParticipantI respect your decision but I´m curious why making it an option would not be helpful. Could you please explain that to me?
larsenParticipantHi Sathish,
thanks for the info.
Lars
larsenParticipant1) zip includes dump and a screenshot from UltraEdit
2) I think it´s more cosmetical
larsenParticipantHmm, you´re right. I didn´t think of that or didn´t notice it at that point.

Is it same for you or different? It´s different: Scrolling never happens inside the dropdown-box.
Quote:Does it behave otherwise with other programs?Yes, e.g. in Outlook 2007 I can search my adress book and have a list of former search terms. When the mouse is over that box, it scrolls. When it´s outside, the list of mails scrolls.
Quote:But I can follow that if you don't want to use the mouse at all then this breaks here. You will need to move the mouse. It´s not about not moving the mouse. Actually, the scroll wheel is on my mouse and I used the mouse to open the drop-down. I just want to use the wheel instead of then moving the mouse to the scrollbar.
larsenParticipantHmm, you´re right. I could swear this wasn´t shown the time I posted this…
February 2, 2011 at 4:27 pm in reply to: "flush Privileges" Missing After "rename User" Command #31901larsenParticipantHmmm… I couldn´t reproduce it now either. The time it happened, a customer told me that the login wasn´t possible. It worked when I had flushed the privileges. Perhaps, there was some other reason at my customer´s side why it didn´t work in the first place.
Sorry, I should have tested this again by myself to see if I can reproduce the problem 🙁

But there really are reasons for this recommendation. Too many server bugs before 5.0.67.
Yes, so am I =)
The problem is that we have about 20 servers and you really don´t want to update all of them everytime a new release comes out – especially regarding that that might also add new problems. Updating to a tested version with “apt-get upgrade” is much easier and safer.
Though, Debian Squeeze is on it´s way bringing MySQL 5.1.49
Until then, I can surely live with that MySQL bug.
Thanks for your help =)
January 31, 2011 at 2:10 pm in reply to: "flush Privileges" Missing After "rename User" Command #31896larsenParticipant1. Click on the user manager icon
2. Select user
3. Change host
4. Click on “save changes”
Server version is 5.0.51a-24+lenny5-log

That´s why I posted it as [offtopic] and also I wouldn´t know a better place than this forum =)
Thanks for the answers. Seems like I have to live with that.
larsenParticipantThx, works as expected.
IMHO the time where the next typed character starts a new search could be reduced. It seems to be at ~1s
