Thanks for the reply and sorry I did not reply sooner (thought the forum would notify me of replies but apparantly not).
I am running Windows 7
Not a problem with SQLyog running, it was closed and no process running in task manager.
Was running as Admin and even tried installing by right click and run as Admin, but same issue.
Eventually installed by turning McAfee off completely.
I am not sure if it is significant but now McAfee is also detecting 9.3.0 as a potential virus when downloading.
Regards
John
JohnSMemberThanks for the help, I will try using 7.1 beta 1 and can always fall back on 7.02 in admin mode if there are any issues, hopefully 7.1 will will go stable soon and that will solve the issue.
JohnSMemberYes I do have UAC on but turning off UAC makes no difference, I should have mentioned I had already tried that.
7.1 Beta seems to work, I have not yet had chance to check it out fully, but it certainly does not freeze on exit. Though I notice when closing the program it briefly goes to the Query Builder page before it finally closes, but it does close and not freeze.
Thanks
JohnSMemberHave you never got this issue before upgrading to 7.02? NEVER
Is this consistently reproducible for you? If so please tell the steps to reproduce this. YES it happens every time you attempt to close SQLYog. Open SQLYog and connect to a database, view a table and then try and close SQLYog either from the red X at the top left or from the File menu and it will hang.
Are you using direct, ssh or http connection? Direct
Do you work with localhost or remote host? remote host
Can you please uncheck the Schema designer option in Tools->Preferences->Powertools->Default tabs. And let us know still the issue is persistent.
Done this but no real difference but the screen freezes at a different point , screenshot of frozen screen attached.
1) disable autocomplete DONE but no change
I have just found a workaround by running the program as administrator rather than directly, so this would suggest it is a VISTA problem, I will try and reinstall and see what happens, though I have reinstalled three time already.
{UPDATE} I have reinstalled only this time instead of running directly from the download I saved the file and then ran it as administrator to install it, this time the problem has gone and all appears to be working OK. Would seem with Vista there is a problem with directly installing downloads, I have had this with a couple of other programs.
{FURTHER UPDATE} After closing OK a few times, it has now gone back to the freezing on exit, it is OK if I run it as administrator but if I run it as a normal program it will freeze on exit.
