If you have a key with out passphrase, then the communication is not encrypted!

Are you sure about that? AFAIK the passphrase is for encryption of the private key file to prevent misuse of the private key. I don't think it has any impact on the connection encryption.

I still experience this! Especially when HTTP-tunnelling to remote servers.

    Anybody else that does?

Yes I agree. I have this problem with all beta builds for 5.2.

It not only happens when you click the x on the window corner, but on closing the connection via the menu: file -> disconnect.

    I reported this 2 weeks ago: http://www.webyog.com/forums//index.php?ac…f=14&t=2353

I can confirm that the problem only occurs when using HTTP tunnelling.

Once it occurred when I did a time consuming operation. To me it seemed that the HTTP connection timed out and SQLyog got frozen.

    Yes it works now.

I want to say thank you for listening to our needs. It is astonishing how fast you guys make this great program even better day by day.

I would highly appreciate this, because the servers at our university mainly have self signed certs.

Yes, i have to admit you are the MOST-not-on-topic poster in this thread 🙂

My other post is not related in any kind to this one. Why? because the other problem appears in 5.17, 5.18 and 5.2b1. I don't assume it to be a beta flaw but a problem with the server, php and the tunnel script.

HTTPS is definitely supported, and many customers use it regularly.

I think Peter got confused with the SSL encryption provided by MySQL APIs.

But, I am not sure whether SQLyog will be able to handle a certificate. We have to set a similar environment to test it.

    @jexxer
: Can you help us accelerate the test/debug by giving us temporary access to a test server having a similar setup.

If yes, please create a ticket at http://www.webyog.com/support

I'm sorry, but i have no similar setup available. To the server I talked about i only have FTP access to. If this is enough for you to test I can give you the login data.

    Certificates? Now I'm confused.

I did not say something about certificates, did I?

    Please search a little! 😛

My fault. I did check for that error in the Forum but did not recognize this Topic. What about the second one? Is that a dupe too? 😛

We do not support SSL with SQLyog as of now.

You want to say that HTTP Tunneling over SSL is not possible? There are plenty of Topics that tell me it should work.

I do not mean SSL Tunneling via a wrapper but by simple HTTPS on Port 443 at my webserver.

Couldn't replace your one dot with some other character?

Sure, I do. But that's not the point. This is a bug reporting forum not a 'find-the-best-workaround' forum.

I thought I'd mention it. But i guess you are right — it is better to rewrite a whole feature instead of fixing a little tiny bug. 😛
