I am trying to set up notification on my home machine. Actually, it's been configured for some time and I was just making some changes. When I click Test Settings on the Email Options page, I get:

SMTP SERVER BUG (invalid challenge):ok, go on

      Then

Can not authenticate to SMTP server: 334 ok, go on

      Then

      Error while sending test email,

      Can't connect to SMTP server!

These are the exact same settings I use in Outlook to send email, and they work perfectly in Outlook. What might be the problem?

We are getting these 3 errors when our SMTP details are incorrect. So, could you please furnish the details below:

      1. What SQLyog program version you are using?

      2. Also, please confirm whether your password contains any special characters?

      Let us know the status.

      Regards,

      Navya

      Also,

Make sure that you have used proper encryption method in drop-down (No Encryption/TLS/SSL)?

Tried others just in case I was wrong, but No Encryption is selected and that is correct.
