      Just installed and trying my first connection.

      Views localhost great, Win2K!

      Trying to connect to remote server running RedHat I get the error

      Error 2003

      Can't connect to MySQL server on '207.44.212.27' (10060)

      MySQL Host Address: 207.44.212.27

      Username: CorrectUserNameForDatabase

      Password: CorrectPasswordForDatabase

      Default Database: FolderNameOnRemoteServerWhereDatabaseLives

      Connect Using SSL or not same results

      Gives you a couple things to check. Looks to me like you are trying to connect to MySQL on a port it's not running on.

      😮 Thanks Cal but that's not the problem

      I suspect it's a Linux permissions issue.

      MySQL apparently does not set directory and file permissions for Linux so Linux blocks access to the directories.

      Now I'm really confused because apparently the login settings you put in SQLyog have nothing to do with the MySQL database users permissions.

      Any suggestions would be appreciated!

      Learning Linux and MySQL at the same time is a real challenge!!!
