This feature is by design.

“View table data…” option actually inserts a SQL stmt. in the SQL window and then executes it. So you need to have SQL window to be visible to use it.

This feature seems to be effecting MySQL versions 4.1.8 and 4.1.9. Works great with v4.1.7.

No mention of such changes can be found at: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/news-4-1-8.html or http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/news-4-1-9.html.

I am working closely with MySQL AB developers to know the exact reason.

Solution given by mangumr seems to be working though. 😀

4.02 BETA will be released within this week.

4.02 is a FREE upgrade for existing 4.x users 😀

I believe you are a 3.x user and you need to upgrade to 4.x Enterprise. The Enterprise version will not popup the nag screen.

Data Synchronization Tool is only available with SQLyog Enterprise. Using Data Synchronization Tool you can sync two databases where a table's primary key is an integer with auto_increment.

I have forwarded it to my development team. Lot of SQL editor improvments are in the TO-DO list of SQLyog v4.2. 😀
