and I have HTTP tunnel problems that I never had before …
Now I have Vista, and I think I have no option to reintsall IE. The only options is to uninstall patches/updates.
thanks for the info. We will keep a sharp eye on that!
I've had a few clients that have had problems with connectivity and IE7. Though most are still using XP – even I am – one thing you might to check is the IE7 updates for March – the last two digits of the updates are 69 and 90 – and this month's. See if you can uninstall those updates, then see how it works, that just might do the trick. Can you download another copy of IE7 from MS? If you can, see if you can reinstall it. You might have to edit the registry to reinstall.
I've already notified MS on this. I think they are on it. 😮
If you need anymore info feel free to PM me!

Could you arrange remote acces to some (silly) database? then only we can debug this.
Thanks
Adarsh
I figured out what it was! I reinstalled IE7, updated it, and it works now! Wow! Thanks for the trouble though. BTW, a lot of my IT clients have been having problems with the March and May IE7 updates; browser crashing, etc. Reinstalling IE7 seems to work!
MonteMemberadarsh wrote on May 1 2007, 11:40 PM:Hello,We are not able to reproduce here.
Please download SQLyog5.29 or SQLyog6.0 Beta4 and try.
Still if you got any problem please feel free to communicate.
Thanks
Adarsh
I'll try that. Thanks.
On Edit:
I just downloaded 5.30 and it still didn't work. I'll SQLyog6.0 Beta.

I'm not using tunneling. It's always connected before. I've also disabled the XP Firewall and still doesn't work.

If/When I get more error messages I'll post them.
Thanks again!

For some reason – probably due to my own ignorance – I couldn't restore the data. So I rebuilt the forum manually by re-adding all the forums. Then members started posting again, therefore I have new data. Now, I have the old back up from August on my computer and want to merge it into the new data. [BTW, I also have current backups of my forum as of today, etc.] All's I want to do is merge the two DBs. 😮
One more thing. Is it possible to restore the old DB – for testing, etc. – to a test forum I have at a different URL?
Thank you!

All what is needed to connect to the servers (whether running on localhost or elsewhere) is compiled into the SQLyog***.exe and sja.exe executables.Did I understand the question right?
You did. But it still didn't work. I'll get back to you.

Or maybe you can use a a privileged user like 'root' or 'admin' …
Peter,
Am I supposed to have a mySQL client on my computer to do this?

Well I wouldn't expect you to know the actually name. 😆 I'll try a couple of things and get back if I have any problems. Thanks.

[Newbie question] So what name should be put in there?
February 5, 2007 at 7:28 am in reply to: Is There A Way To Synchronize/update A Db On My Computer? #23337MonteMemberNothing works so far but here's what I have.
[attachment=598:SYSyog_s_settings.JPG]
For the target on the right I didn't show you the connection. Also, could you explain “To access a MySQL database you will need to use a client and enter” please? It's the DB is on my computer. Will I need anything else? Thanks again!
On Edit: What's the PW I should use for the local settings? My Desktop login?
peterlaursen wrote on Feb 4 2007, 11:13 PM:You should not use a FILE PATH to the database. To access a MySQL database you will need to use a client and enter* host
* user
* password
* port
.. basically!
But I am not sure I understand. Could you possibly post some screenshots of what works and what does not? You can fake details. You can also create a ticket?

February 5, 2007 at 2:37 am in reply to: Is There A Way To Synchronize/update A Db On My Computer? #23333MonteMemberI have a question. When this dialog appears what do I put in for the localhost, username, info? [The box on the lefthand side.] Is it my computer password, user, etc.? I've tried my desktop logon, etc. and have not been able to connect. I get an error that I can't connect: Error # 2203 to localhost 10061. I'm a newbie to databases. 😮
