I have been using SQLyog 302 for some time now. I was going to switch to v4 a while back, but I noticed they went totally commercial only. Now that I see it is free again, I downloaded it. It is very slick. I am going to buy now 😛
The point I was making is not cause it's a nag screen, but cause it's at shutdown, too.
I just downloaded 4.0.3 in hopes they'd fixed it, but hadn't.
I don't mind a Nag screen; what I do mind is one at shutdown… Everytime we start up we are very well reminded this is the free version. I don't mind that. But I bloody heck don't need another reminder on shutdown. I don't want to exit my app having to hit another nag screen. When I exit, I want it to exit. This is one of the biggest problems I have with Outlook (I exit, kill my work VPN and it's STILL trying to connect!). When I exit, the application needs to come to an all stop w/out any additional user intervention.
guiceMemberNag screen fine. Make it only on startup and I wouldn't care too much. What pushed me over the edge is that I'm no longer able to just hit the 'x' and be done with the application. Things get 10 times worse when you set your system on 'Shut Down' and walk away.
Putting the Nag screen on shut down has to be one of the worst business decisions in a product I've ever seen. Nothing could be more annoying and more of a turn off from the product.
guiceMemberAn old post, suprised there's no official responce.
guiceMemberI would also like to put my vote into SQLyog remembering the last window position/size from last exit.
SQLyog opening up full screen on each start up is getting rather .. annoying.
guiceMemberNever mind .. A search using 'Any Date' reveled: http://www.webyog.com/forums/index.php?act…=5&t=23&hl=blob
Now, if there was anyway to save this stuff in a Preference File ( expecially SQLyog's annoying habbit of going full screen )
