Peter – many many thanks for all your help. You have been outstanding. I rate your support as unbelievable…..Superb…
alan4573MemberHave justdownloaded MySQL v5.016 and am now about to try what you suggested – will let you know how I get on….
alan4573MemberAre you saying that if I upgrade my local Version of MySQL to v5.0 then I will be able to copy from MySQL v5.0 to MySQL v4.025 using SQLYOG v5.0…..
alan4573Memberpeterlaursen wrote on Dec 1 2005, 01:23 PM:Just tested copy from 4.1 to 5.0 and it works fine.but the 'default charset …' in the create statement also is identical across these versions.
[post=”8051″]<{POST_SNAPBACK}>[/post]When you say just tested copy from 4.1 to 5.0, what products are you referring to SQLYog or MySQL???? Not clear.
My problem is that using SQLYog v5.0 (or even 4.2 and earlier versions) I cannot copy from a local MySQL server v4.1 to a remote MySQL server v4.025. Are you saying that I should be able to copy from MySQL v4.1 to MySQL v5?? If so, that doesn't help me as my host will not upgrade MySQL to a later version (I've asked)
alan4573MemberRitesh – Pleeeease hurry up and fix this – I desperately could do with it working as I need to copy rather a lot of data in the next couple of days
Peter – thanks a lot for your help. Much appreciated

alan4573MemberThanks for the prompt reply:
The bit I strip out is the DEFAULT CHARSET=Latin1 (The ENGINE=MyISAM bit works fine
The target version is 4.0.25-standard (apologies for the mistake – it was late and I was very tired).
Anyhows, I notice you have created the error – can it be fixed?? I really hope so, it would make things heaps easier. 😀
