      I have a linux box running mysqld and its my router, so its a fixed ip with my lan. I try to point SQLyog to it but it seems to want to connect to lan ip for some reason. I have no host.deny files or anything or any permission settings, it just trys to connect to my windows workstation that I'm on. Any suggestions?

      1: Are you pointing it to a machine name or a specific IP address?

      2: what does your /etc/my.cnf look like?
