I just bought 3 copies of Enterprise edition because I'm now using MySQL 4.1 I found that SSL Encryption has vanished – POOF! – I'm kinda pissed about this…

SSH Tunnelling may be a useful option to some – (even though SQLyog only supports username/password authentication instead of Certificate authentication or Kerberos) but what happened to simple SSL encryption support? Why just yank SSL Encryption out like it never existed?

MySQL's client library for Windows does not support SSL as of now.

We are looking into this issue and we will revert back soon.

It's already September, v4.1 didn't return SSL functionality and the features list for v4.2 doesn't include SSL. When you say “revert back soon” what exactly do you mean? I've already reverted back… all the way back to the last SSL capable version. What a piss off that I actually spent money on SQLYog “enterprise”. <_<

We apologize for the inconvenience. SSL support got pushed down in our priority list, and all the licensing confusion related to OpenSSL for Windows added to our woes.

We promise to deliver SSL with v. 4.4.

SQLyog 4.2 will provide complete MySQL 5.x ( SPs, views, etc ) support.

SQLyog 4.3 will address all Unicode issues.
