I can't connect to a tunnel that used to work.

When i check it in my browser I get this error.

On another customer on the same webhost it works fine. Why?

      I got SQL Yog 5.17.

      Error

      Tunnel version: 5.17.

This PHP page exposes the MySQL API as a set of webservices.

This page allows SQLyog to manage a MySQL server even if the MySQL port is blocked or remote access to MySQL is not allowed.

Visit Webyog to get more details about SQLyog.

      Error!file_get_contents(php://input) failed

I actually see that this message is the same on the site where the tunneling works.

So I guess it's 2 different servers, but on the same webhost. Are there anything more that needs to be setup, or something that the webhost can have/use that blocks my phptunnel?

Appearently the non-working server is PHP5, and the other is PHP4.. But I'm 99% sure that it worked a week ago.

Is the tunnel script compatible with php5?

Yes it is compatible with PHP 5.

It should work and usually does with all versions 4.4 – 5.2.  I have practically only been using it myself with 5.1.2 and 5.2 for some m

      nths now.

PHP older than 4.3 is not supported.  And there also is a problem with (the non-released) PHP 6.  Maybe this a small problem only, but we did not have the time to get into it.

As you are 99% sure that it worked 1 week ago some server configuration must have changed?

Please try asking the System Administrator adbout Webserver and PHP configuration.

However I would also recommend that you upgrade SQLyog (and the tunneller with it) to 5.22 or 5.23 beta (RC in 1-2 days).  The tunneller shipped with 5.23 is practicallay totally rewritten (and supports php-mysqli() )

Ok, I'll try that.. I try not to upgrade too often, cause it's pretty annoying to have to upload a new tunneler each and every time 😮

According to my login I can't download a new version:

2006-01-05 SQLyog Enterprise – Single User

Upgrade for a special price of $37 Click here 1 Name: Niclas Marie

      Code: Expired product 47

Is the free upgrade only for one year? ;(

Yes .. free upgrade is for one year.

      Please read:

      http://webyog.com/faq/30_129_en.html

Our new license policy took effect when we released version 5.0 November 2005 – and that was clearly stated on our website. Before that we used the common shareware concept of 'major' and 'minor' number versions. However, what is a 'major' and a 'minor' program version? Would you be more happy if if we renamed 5.22 to 6.0 ?

However we belive the current solution is much more fair and transparent. We cannot just assign a number arbitrarily and start billing for upgrades. Customers are guaranteed free upgrades for a year no matter what features are added to the program in the period

When version 5.0 was introduced we also lowered the price around 50% (from 97$ to 47% for for a commercial license).

I see, it's a fair price, but right now SQLYog works perfectly with this version, except for this problem, only on this website.

I'm not sure that an upgrade now will help me, but I guess I could try the BETA and see if it works.

      Thank you.

Now I tried with 5.23 beta, and the same host and got this:

Test connection: Connection successful! MySQL version is 4.1.21-standard

but when i try Connect, it takes a loooooooooooong time, then I get this error:

      Error No 1.

HTTP Error: Could not connect to the tunneling URL.

I've tried it from another computer too, no success.

I've tried both http and https (I got it on my server), no success, but the “Test connection” button still works for both.

Is there anything I can do to make you test it somehow? If i enter the wrong username/password, the test button gives me “Access denied” but the “Connect”-button still don't work, So I could let you try to connect to my Tunnel on my webhost, if I could reach a developer of yours through MSN or something.

You can create a ticket, post your details (we only need a 'silly' test database) and let us try.

      details:

      – User

      – password

      – URL to the tunneller

… but it looks most like a server issue.

and you are perfectly sure that the URL is correct?  Can you access it from a browser?

I am not eligible to create a priority support ticket, since my period expired <_< Yes, I'm perfectly sure, as i said “Test connection” works successfully. It's a live database on a specific webhost, so I can't send you the login details, but I can PM you the tunnel URL and the databasename, and you can see what happens.

I replied to your PM this

“We can connect to the tunneller without problems.

Just try 'localhost' as MySQL host”

and you can create a ticket too – it is just a little 'hidden away'.

You can try clicking on 'about us' on http://www.webyog.com (only one way to do so!) and use the two caramels above your nose … 😛

      Got your ticket reading

      “Nope, still don't work here.

What ports are involved in this? I'll have to check firewall issues..

      Thanks for trying

      -nicmar”

Only port 80 is involved in HTTP-tunnelling.
