      I sort of agree, however if anyone wants a work around, here it is.

      1. Rightclick the shortcut for SQLyog

      2. Select properties

      3. Use the dropdown option “Run” and select “Maximized”

      In the 5.2 tree we fixed the issue, that the program does not remember it MAXIMIZED state.

      Now if it is maximized when closing, it will open as maximized next time.
