      The width of the left hand frame (where all of the databases are listed) annoyingly changes its width when the SqlYog application is made wider or narrower. There is no good reason for the left frame to behave in this manner. Its width should be either precisely what I have set it to, or sized to just fit the content there.

      Say I have SqlYog open on a monitor that is 1024×768. I resize the left frame so it will just fit the database names listed there so as to maximize the width of the query and result frames. If I move SqlYog to my big 2560×1600 monitor, the left frame expands itself and there is a bunch of wasted space and I have to resize the frame to make it smaller. Then after that if I move SqlYog back from 2560×1600 to 1024×768, the left frame shrinks so small that the database names are not visible and I have to drag to expand it. I would prefer if SqlYog remembered the exact pixels I have set the left frame to.

      In addition, it would be great to have an “auto resize” option for the left hand frame, so that it dynamically “just fits” the content shown there (no more and no less). So if i click a plus to show the tables in a database, the left frame automatically expands to make them visible, then if I click the minus, the left frame contracts so there is no wasted white space.

      Reasonable request. But I am not sure if this is managed from inside our code or by some Windows API standard control. Also it may not be the only place in SQLyog where same consideration applies.

      I would imagine it is possible. If you think about it, the left frame showing databases in SQLyog is the equivalent of the left frame containing the directory tree in Windows Explorer. If you test the behavior in Windows Explorer, you will notice that the left frame stays the same size no matter how big or small you make the application. SQLyog should also behave like this.

      I'd just like to bump this from over 2 years ago. I just purchased a license renewal in hopes this feature has been added, but sadly it has not. Please make it so the left column can be set to a fixed or dynamic width — anything other than a percentage based on the current application width…

      I’d just like to make yet another annual bump to this from over 3 years ago. I did not renew my license this year, and will not until this feature has been added.
