After installing the new v6.03 over v5, I receive this error upon startup:

      Quote:
Could not open the referenced file.

      5:Access is denied.

I click OK, and SQLyog starts up and works fine from then on. However, saved connections are never saved, and I have a feeling that's because the “referenced file” can't be read.

I should mention I run under a non-administrative user account, but I installed under the administrator account. I've also tried completely uninstalling and installing from scratch (thinking the problem was from not uninstalling v5 first), but that doesn't help. I never had this trouble with v5, I installed it the same way, etc.

Is this a known bug? Are there any ways around this?

Just an update, I got around the problem by giving my non-admin account full permissions for the installation location of SQLyog. Maybe this thread will help others who might run into the same problem.

Yes, user should have write access to the sqlyog.ini file.

maybe we should consider storing the file in users 'application data' foler (or 'roaming' folder on Vista!)

Please tell the exact OS!  I think the default settings on 2K server and 2003 server are more restrictive that on 'non-server' windows version …

Yes, storing the information in the user's Application Data folder would be ideal for multi-user environments.

I am running on Windows XP Professional with SP2.
