I have experienced that nothing gets inserted from ODBC-import. (it runs and displays the number or rows transfered, but table is empty after import). I could not figure out why … untill I unchecked “Import Primary Key” in the “advanced” pane. I REALLY did not know there was a PK in my Access Table … This PK is used by an application using the Access DB and I don't want to use it with MySQL. And that table where the PK is is actually hidden by that application, I believe (defined as metadata).
1)
Actually I choose to import as MyIsam. Is not the PK-option then without meaning and should be greyed out/unavailable ?
2)
I propose (VERY seriously!) that table-type choice, PK-option and index-option is put on the main wizard window (it could easily be 1-2 inches wider), so that you will allways see it. Indexes is not an “advanced” feature, and table type choice is no “transform”. It is not placed where it is logical, but where a GUI designer found it convenient …
3)
As most of your GUIs/wizards this one is made for dwarfs. Especially the “transform pane” It is not practical with 25 character long column names etc …
But I LOVE that new ODBC-import         And extremely fast compared to everything else.
4) I PM'ed you a proposal to be able to run a SQL against the TARGET as the very last operation for the ODBC-jobfile. That's not needed. I withdraw! Notifcation Service can do that. So it is just a question of creating af .bat-file with 2 lines in it looking like
sja my_odbcjob.xml
sja my_notifijob.xml

I am not able to reproduce this anymore … Don't have any idea about what was happening at the time. It has worked dozens of times now. It is possible that I had two identically named tables in two databases and simply looked for data in the wrong database ………
