  when upgrading mysql to (the brandnew) 4.1.1 from 4.0 I get the message “handshake eror” when trying to connect from sqlyog. ODBC and JDBC connection to the database work OK.
  
  Should I just reinstall sqlyog, or does it take an update to sqlyog to make it work with 4.1.1.
  
  I Use sqlyog 3.11 but it's the same problem with the 3.63 demo.

  SQLyog 3.64 RC1 has been released. Check out http://www.webyog.com/forums/index.php?act…&st=0#entry1942
  
  This version uses the new libmysql.dll for connecting to MySQL 4.1.1.
