  In ‘Import external data’ it would be very helpfull, if mysql (without odbc) could be chosen as data source, and other databases as mysql could be chosen as import-to-database.

  I do’t know what are your exact requirements but as far as I can understand, you want to copy database from one MYSQL server to another MYSQL server. If I understand correct that you can do this with Database synchronization tool. Please refer-https://static.webyog.com/docs/SQLyog/Data_Base_Synchronization_SQLyog_MySQL_Management_Tool.htm

  Not only with Data Sync, but also with ‘copy database’ (from the database menu/context menu) you can do it.
  
  But we have no plans to import not anything else but MySQL. Please refer this FAQ: http://faq.webyog.com/content/32/65/en/what-kind-of-databases-does-sqlyog-support.html
