      In menu 'tools .. preferences .. powertools tab' you can enable/disable both the Query Builder and/or the Schema Designer, if you do not want to show those at start-up (you will always be able to open them from the 'file' menu when you need them).

      I don't know if that replied to your question.  If not please elaborate the question.
