      Hi,

Just wondering if there is a way to have SQLYOG maintain a permanent file of daily history? Looked under HELP -> HISTORY and it gave details of the history tab layout, etc.

Maybe SQLYOG is already doing this for me and I just don't know the location of the history file…?

      Thank you.

This is not possible currently.  HISTORY is saved in memory and not saved to disk.  If you close SQLyog the allocated memory is free'd (and data disappear).

It is an old request actually – refer: http://code.google.com/p/sqlyog/issues/detail?id=1032

You will see that its status is set to 'scheduled' – what means the it considered whenever we plan for 'next after next' version.  But not for next major development tree (8.7),

You can copy to clipboard (mark with mosue + Ctrl+C) and next paste into an editor.  But no way to load an old HISTORY into the running program instance.

.. but you are welcome to propose implementation details for this, of course.

      Thank you for the update.

I used to use MS FoxPro. It kept a running text file of all keyboard activity, which it opened with each startup. That's the “model” I was thinking of. It was great for referring to “the query I ran last week.”

Yes, I know I could save the daily activity manually, but I have a very good reason for not doing so: I'm lazy 🙂
