      Hi!

I installed SQLyog 4.0. When launching it, I get to the “connection” window, put in details of the connection, test the connection (successfully) and then click OK.

I never passed that point as every single time, it crashes and give the following error message:

      Code:
      AppName: sqlyogent.exe        AppVer: 1.0.0.1    ModName: sqlyogent.exe
      ModVer: 1.0.0.1     Offset: 000839a3

I'm using WinXP sp1, and have never any problem with any other application.

      Any help?

      Are you using multi-monitor setup?

SQLyog 4.0 is known to crash in multi-monitor setup. We have released a bug-fix release – v4.01 BETA that fixes this bug. It can be downloaded from the following links.

      FREE edition: http://www.webyog.com/sqlyog/SQLyog401.exe

      Enterprise Edition: http://www.webyog.com/sqlyog/SQLyog401Ent.exe

We will be releasing 4.01 FINAL later this week.

That was the problem apparently, and the fix fixes it.

      Many thanks

I appear to have a similar problem when connecting to my database. The 'test connection' works OK, but the 'real' connection fails with the following:

      AppName: sqlyog.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.1 ModName: ntdll.dll

      ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 Offset: 000111de

I do run in multi monitor mode, and have downloaded / installed the revised version 4.01 with no success. Currently running Windows XP SP2.

      Any ideas?

      Cheers.

      Mike

Does switching off multi-monitor mode help?

Which multi-monitor management (e.g. Ultramon) software do you use?

The adapter is a Radeon 7000. Turning off the 'Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor' option for the second monitor has no effect – SQLyog still crashes when trying to connect to the databases.

      Thanks

Kept playing and now loads OK. Appear to be a problem listing databases in the connection settings. Cleared the database list and it connects OK.

We have a large number of databases on the server, mainly as backup of other servers, so I generally connect to only those i'm interested in – hence the initial configuration with a database list. It's no problem seeing all the databases – just easier if you don't 😉

      Thanks

Can you post a screenshot of the connection window with the database list?

SQLyog should never crash and if it is crashing then we need to fix the bug.
