      Hi,

I am using SQLYog Enterprise, version 8.12, on Windows Vista Home Premium.

In the “Connect to MySQL host” dialog, on the “MySQL” tab, you can enter the password for a host and check “Save password” so you won't have to enter the password again.

I have several hosts configured, but repeatedly, only for some hosts, SQLYog appears to “forget” the password. The “Save password” checkbox remains checked, but the password input is empty.

After I enter the password and click Save, it will “stick” for a while, like a day or two, but then it disappears again. This happens with two particular hosts, the other hosts don't have this problem. These hosts both use only the standard connection, without SSH or HTTP tunneling. The password for these hosts is nothing special, about 10 characters, only using a-z and 0-9.

I saw the exact same bug in a slightly older version too, I believe it was 8.0x. Upgrading apparently didn't help. I actually renewed my license just to get rid of this annoying bug and it's still there, that is quite disappointing :-(.

I really hope the SQLYog team will look into this bug and fix it soon. This is very basic functionality of the program, it should just work. Otherwise, it's a great product :-).

      Thanks a lot.

The password (if saved by user) is stored in the sqlyog.ini file on local machine. So this is not server related. It must be a de-obfuscationg failure when we read the file. As you experience this wiht specific servers it may be an issue with specific connection names.

Best of all was if you could send the sqlyog.ini file to us when it appears. Don't attach here but create a private ticket. And yes .. we will be able to connect and even reverse engineer the passwords. But we need such testcase. However maybe details for a single [connection] section in the file will be enough.
