Character Sets And Collations Support

When do you anticipate to support character sets and collations on the table and columns level? (create table, alter table, …)

Also, now when I manually set a column/table to utf8 (for example), then table data grid do not use this information and shows the data with the default character set. But when I turn a cell in edit mode it shows the content of the sell with the correct encoding.

All this (and solution to more localization issues too) is planned for version 5.1.

Actually you could search a little bit here and find a post only a few weeks old telling that! It will be possible to specify charset and collation on a column base. there will simply be added a column to the CREATE TABLE and ALTER TABLE GUI's from where to specify that.

Ritesh may be able to be more precise, but I think the first 5.1 beta will be out in a few weeks.

Its planned for v5.2 with all other multilingual/language support.

5.1 will have:

— Support for MySQL 5.x objects in Structure Sync tool.

— Improved algorithm for data sync tool.

— Better data structure implementation in Table/Data tab.

5.1 BETA 1 will take around 4-6 weeks.

It that the columns defaults issues with CURRENT_TIMESTAMP, SESSION_USER and char/varchar/text NULL etc that will be solved here ?
