I am having a very hard time changing the join type (INNER, LEFT, etc.) in the query builder.

From the help file: “In the image above you also see that changing a JOIN type or deleting line representing a JOIN from the canvas is done by right-clicking on the line itself, and selecting from the context menu.”

I've tried this, and right-clicking the line does not ever bring up this context menu. It only brings up the “add tables/views // load query design” menu.

I can get it to display the proper menu by left-clicking the line, but this only works some of the time.

What am I doing wrong, or have I found a bug? This is a super-irritating glitch in an otherwise fantastic tool!

      Using: SQLyog Enterprise v8.71

This is a bug and this will be fixed in an upcoming version. Thank you for reporting this issue to us and for using SQLyog.

This issue has been fixed internally and will be included into the next public release that we expect on coming week.

As a workaround for the time being you can 'delete' the line by using the 'Delete' key after selecting the line by mouse left button.
