Hi,
I recently installed v 5.19 of community edition. The program works great except for the favorites feature. This is what happens:
1. Open mysqlyog
2. Type a query
3. Add to favorites
Clicking on the favorites menu does not display the newly created favorite. Selecting “Organize favorites” or “Add to favorites” crashes the program with a buffer overrun message. Selecting 'Refresh favorites' does nothing.
I uninstalled and installed the program several times. Also installed v. 5.11, but this one is worse because it crashes showing the same message but at the very beginning.
Deleting the favorites folder (F:Documents and SettingsxxxxApplication DataSQLyogFavorites) allows for selecting the Organize and Add to favorites, but as soon as one is added, the problem returns.
The first favorite added is created correctly. Inside the Favorites directory a file is added with the name of the favorite item created (.sql file). Opening the file shows the query correctly.
One thread in the forum claims that a similar problem was related to a virus on the PC. I completely checked both computers and no virus where found.
I get the same error on two different computers running Windows XP SP2.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Please try:
1) delete or rename the application datausersqlyog -folder
2) install 5.2 beta 7
Ther was such issue with 5.11. We know that. But I do not think we know about it with 5.19. However if you had 5.1 or 5.11 installed before you installed 5.19 it can occur too.

sorry I forgot:
before deleting please zip the application datausersqlyog -folder. And send it to us by attaching it here (or create a ticket if you do not want to expose it in public)

Hello,
Thanks so much for your answer Peter. After reading your message opened mysqlyog to add a favorite so I could zip and send the mysqlyog folder. This time, however, the favorite item did show up in the favorites menu and the program did not crash! It is very strange, because yesterday it crashed every time when repeating the actions mentioned in my previous post. I will work with the program today and if the problem comes back I'll keep you posted.
Thanks,
GS

Hello. The problem came back. It happens only when favorites has subdirectories. Attached zipped sqlyog directory.

No one of us here have experienced this with much more complicated and 'deeper' folder structures.
Does not happen either with your favorites folder replacing ours.
Could I ask you to try Beta8 to get a better debug dump?

Hi, I assume beta8 is the currently available to download, right?

Hi Peter,
Deleted 5.19 community and sqlyog directory (inside applications). Installed 5.2beta8.
The program does not crash, like the previous, but nested folders anre not show.
I added a new favourite. In the dialog box, I added a new folder and put the favorite inside. Click ok. Click refresh. The folder does not show.
Tried to create a new folder with the same name. The program complained about a directory with the same name. Looked inside Favorites directory and, in fact, there was the previouly created directory and inside the directory the sql file with the query.
I'll try to use the option with a single file.
If you want me to try something else, let me know.
Thanks so much for your help.

OK it won't let you create subfolders to the 'favorites' folder and the existing ones don't show on your system for some reason.
We will need some time to discuss how this can happen!
