Hello, I am currently evaluating SQLyog Enterprise as the solution for my data transfer/import needs… I am currently running my webserver on Windows platform, although in the future will be migrating to Linux platform..

My question is : can I migrate all my SQLyog customizations to the Linux version? And does the purchase of license lock me into a certain platform (Windows vs Linux)?

      Thank you,

      Owen

SQLyog is a MySQL client. It can connect to any MySQL server running on any OS. You can migrate your MySQL to Linux platform and still you should be able to work with SQLyog.

I am not sure by what you mean by customization to SQLyog. Do you mean the connection details that you entered in SQLyog? SQLyog is a Windows client. Though it can run under WINE emulator in Linux. More details on running it under WINE can be found at: http://www.webyog.com/faq/31_71_en.html

There is a LINUX version of the SJA (the 'SQLyog Job Agent') but not SQLyog (the graphical program).

Ah ok that must have been it… So the SJA can run under linux and be scheduled using cron?

I assume then as a registered user of the windows client, we have access to both versions of the SJA?

SJA for LINUX is a FREE program for everyone.

Check the FAQ for detailed description of the differences
