      Hi,

I constantly find myself creating and printing the table schema using the “Create Schema In HTML” command under the DB menu. I then open it up using an HTML editor and get rid of the columns I don't need and format it so that it fits on a page and stuff. I would really love to be able to print a schema diagram that shows relationships/foreign keys between tables. Something along the lines of the Relationship diagram in Access.

      The initial features would be:

      1) Add/Remove tables from the diagram

      2) Add/Remove columns that are displayed for each table (Fieldname, Datatype, Len, Default, etc)

      3) Move tables using a click+drag combo to position them anywhere in the diagram

      4) Zooming in/out using the mouse wheel

      5) Be able to specify what happens when you double-click on a table in the diagram (open table data screen, alter table screen etc), and all these could be accessed as well by right-clicking on a table

This could later be developed to allow altering of tables right from the diagram. I was thinking maybe an alter button/icon in the corner of a table that will lock/unlock it, so you can drag it around in lock mode but in unlock mode you can change fieldnames, datatypes, etc. Being able to administer the db in the diagram would be awesome.

      What do you guys thinks?

What guys think?! We rarely do ..no time for that .. most of the time we just work! 😀

      Jokes apart, please read: http://www.webyog.com/faq/33_20_en.html

(this may be changed soon as we might decide to do this “As a consequense localisation to ALL languages will be possible. This applies to data management as well as program's appearance.” in two steps: first Data Management, next Program's Appearance. We will detail when 5.1 final is released)

What you request is covered by “Improved management of relationships/Foreign Keys.” It is such graphical diagramming tool that we are thinking of.
