Sometimes, if I minimise my SQLyog window (windows 2003 server) with an open connection and then restore it, the whole window is grey. <_< It seems that SQLyog is not refreshing the window (all the SQLyog icons and menus are still displayed) but not the databases and tables Any ideas? Bill

Bill,
What version fo SQLYog? We've got 2 licenses here both running on XP Pro and don't have that problem. I think both of ours are 4.1

I think this is a problem with co-existence of programs. It could be a single bug with a driver that causes this. Any pop-up-killers and the like ??

I think this is an issue with Win2K.

Recently I've got some similar problems related to the SQLyog (ver 5.0 final) window refresh/repainting.
We have many servers in our office intranet and I mostly have two connections to different hosts using same SQLyog instance, sometimes three. Last week I've opened 4 or even 5, and SQLyog has suddenly stopped window refreshing: just window border was visible and some icons. F5 was executing current query but only result grid was repainted; remaining screen remained unrefreshed: some parts of other windows were visible. Minimize/restore window did not help. I've tried to close single connections (Ctrl-F4) but with no success. After program restart all was fine again.
Few days later I've got exactly same problem again, and again after opening 4th or 5th connection.
I'm using Windows XP Professional with SP2.

Vygi

I have had similar problems. My scenario is that I start a database/table copy in one instance of sqlYog and use another instance to monitor progress (select count(*)…).
I minimize both instances, occasionally opening the monitor instance to check on things.
Then I hear the completion noise from the copy, but I can't un-minimize it. I see the original copy dialog, but it is unresponsive. The copy instance doesn't show up in the alt-tab list and the right-button on the task icon does not provide a menu. Killing with the task manager seems to put things right again.

Caught in the act! See attached!!
I did as it was described. Opened 4 different connections, minimized SQLyog program window, and the 'normalised' it again.
However at the very same moment the the screen-grapper that I use ( http://www.share2.com/capture/ )had 'grapped' the active SQLyog window SQLyog refreshed π .
Also resizing the SQLyog program window a little makes it refresh. But that of course would also trigger a repaint command with the video driver. This is tested on my mini-PC 'DAISY' that is a mini-ITX based computer with a VIA Nehemiah processor and 512 MB RAM of which 16 MB is shared Video memory (the best PC I ever had!).
With more graphics memory and 'game-type' Video-cards it may not occur. However at offices 16 MB (or even less!) shared video memory is not unusual. People are not supposed to play 3D-games at work π

Yes, that is very similar to what I've got.
When you minimize this window and restore it again, some parts will show parts of other windows.
I am not sure but maybe I also have minimized SQLyog having several connections. I will try to reproduce it tomorrow.
BTW resizing or moving window did not help in my case.

That could because your graphics card and driver is more advanced than my on-board graphics chip. Maybe yours can rearrange polygons without having to repaint them completely.

Thanks guys,
I'm glad I'm not alone π
Other than this issue I think SQLyog is an excellent product. I claim my free copy of SQLyog 5.1 enterprise with the fix!! π
Very best regards

Hi Guys, I have spent more time on this (with the latest version, 5.0) and have the following senario. Try this to reproduce the problem.
Open SQLyog (4.2 or 5.0)
Connect to datasource
Maximise datasource (child) window
Minimise SQLyog (parent) window
Restore SQLyog (parent) window
Everything SHOULD be ok π
Now resize the datasource window (ie NOT maximised within the SQLyog (parent) window
Minimise SQLyog (parent) window
Restore SQLyog (parent) window
The SQLyog window will repaint, but the child window will be grey π‘
Hope this helps
Regards
Bill

It doesn't work. I mean, SQLyog works well and I can't reproduce the issue in that way.
And generally: SQLyog runs without any problems today. I currently have 6 connections to 4 different databases, 2-3 query tabs in each window, and everything works just fine, no such problems like already twice before.

vygi, thanks for trying.
I'll try the same test when I get home to see if it may be hardware/video card related.
I'll post my results tomorrow π

Very strange.
We were able to reproduce it using different steps but I think fixing it will solve the above problems too.

Now I've got it again π
I had 3 connections and it worked fine several days in a row but today SQLyou suddenly got crazy while I was switching to another database inside same server.
SQLyog paints now even ottside his own window!
BTW I was unable to attached a screenshot to this message. Tried with Opera 8 and IE 6 with no success: always got just completely blank window after “Add this attachment”
But it is uploaded HERE

To reproduce what please?
If the issue with the file upload? I am quite sure that is proxy-related that it is just my problem; your website works fine. I am also other strange issues here at the office, eg. all phpMyAdmin installations cannot add and cennot edit any entries: all data gets lost after clicking on “Submit”! I also don't have any problems at home. So don't worry about it, all fine.
If the issue with the drawing outside the application window: yes that often hapens when SQLyou gets broken and I try to change wondow size and then maximize + restore + execute query.
