Our mysql server is secured so only users with valid ssh keys (id_dsa) can gain access.

Is it possible to setup SQLyog to use a private key when tunneling?

Currently SQLyog does not support public/private keys. This option is in the TO-DO list of SQLyog.

But you can tunnel the connection through an ssh client. Traffic between SQLyog and ssh is plain.

Hi, what is the status of this SSH Key feature? Still in development?

We plan to buy several licenses for our company, but currently Navicat is the only SQL GUI that supports key files. This is one of the most important criteria for us as all of our servers are protected using a key file system. Always using putty to create the desired tunnel is not an option for us.

You found a pretty old discussion here! You could have found a more recent one only about a week old.

There not not been developed on this yet.

Now we did manage to get SSL certificates into HTTPS tunnelling to be released with beta4 later today.

So I think we should pay attention to KEY authentication with SSH tunnelling next!

But basically I think it is there is the PLINK code that we use – we only need to interface to it.

Let us finish beta4 today and revert back 2row or monday with a reply on this!

Yeah – that was the only search result for “ssh key” I got – so I thought I could bring this topic up again after such a long time 🙂

      Alright, I stay tuned!

Situation is that this weekend is a significant Holiday Weekend in India (Mahatma Gandhi's birthday on Monday). All the boys from the office have taken a short vacation to join the Birthday Party and have ice-cream with the other kids. 😉

We did study this briefly this week and it does not look very difficult. However I cannot commit anything (and no specific time in particular) before Sabya (our server geek #1) gets back by mid next week.

I think it is likely to have it included with the first 'service release' following 5.2 (5.21 that will be).

Yes. It will be implemented positively within the first couple of minor releases after 5.2.

      5.2 is now “feature-frozen!”.
