  Any idea when you are on windows box running MySQL 5.0 and SQLyog364 what “error #1043 bad handshake” means when you try to connect to mysql with sqlyog on the localhost using root and root password?

  Why do you stick at sqlyog 3.64 ?
  
  As far as I remember you will need sqlyog 3.71 or higher to use it with Mysql 4.1.x and 5.0.x
