I have seen this error happen repeatedly and I was wondering if it was corrected in the newest version. When updating a longtext field in “Insert/Update data” mode, I have noticed that the field will empty out after I have closed the window. The “Set Null” check box is NOT checked and this does not happen every time. Unfortunately, it happens often enough to be annoying.
If this bug has been corrected in the newest release, my credit card will be finding its way to your PayPal account soon. 😀

There have been many changes in “Insert/Update” option after SQLyog 3.1.
I will suggest that you download SQLyog 3.52, install it in a different folder. If the problem still exists then you post the error out here. We will definitely fix it in one of next releases of SQLyog.

I purchased the software (v3.52) and this bug is not fixed. Let me walk you through it.
1. Create a table with a long text field and an int field
2. Type some text in the Update Blob field window and click Done. (Make sure “Set Null” is unchecked)
3. Using the arrow keys, arrow over to the int field and enter a value.
4. Press the down arrow to complete editing of the record.
5. Now, arrow back up to the int field and change its value
6. Finally, arrow back down to the empty record
This consistently clears out the text entered into the long text field and can be very frustrating. Please let me know if you can repeat it. If not, I'll send you a recording of the problem as it happens.

Wow…
it's long time since I noticed this bug… but I was never able to create a step by step guide.
