      I have used SQLyog locally on a Windows 2000 machine with no problem. I'm now trying to run SQLyog locally on an NT Server machine and am unable to connect. The error message is:

      Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using password: NO)

      I'm using the defaults of localhost, root and port 3306. The mysql service is running.

      Any ideas?

      Hello

      You dont have correct permission to connect. I believe you are giving the wrong password.

      Does root have permission to login from localhost without a password? (You need to check your mysql.user table to see)

      Got it. The problem did turn out to be the password. I hadn't realized that some security measures had been added and that root required a password.
