Hi all, relatively new to mySQl and found this product. Looks very good and am interested in getting working with it. Having a problem with the connection to my mySQL server. The server is running on my local machine, and when I try to connect using SQLyog, I get the following error:
Error No. 1249
Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server. Consider upgrading mySQL client.
I am currently running mySQL version 4.1 and version 3.1 of the SQLyog product.
Please assist in anywway you can, if you require more information please let me know.
Thanks very much in advance.

Hello
Are you able to connect through the MySQL command line utility?

Hi HTH.
Yes I am able to connect through command line. I am using the same root username and password.
Not sure what the problem is. Not sure if I am using the right Port, but I did use another server admin software and I was able to connect with it.

Hi!
I'm experiencing the same problem ever since upgrading to MySql 4.1 . Both MySql-Front and SqlYog (3.11) are unable to log in if password is required. Is there any solution to this?

According to MySql AB, only ODBC Driver v3.52 will support the new binary protocol implemented in 4.1 . Guess, this might be the reason of login failures with passwords.
