I create a new job and save it.

When I go to edit the saved job I have to re-enter the connection and database to use – is it meant to be this way, it creates doubts for me that the schedule will actually know what it is meant to be backing up?

We cannot repeat this problem. Are you opening the same kind of job as you saved? Iif you save a backup job and open the jobfile for a data sync job for instance I am not sure what will happen.

Please let us have a look at the jobfile. You may fake passwords in the file. And if you don't want to post it in public you can create a support ticket by sending a mail to [email protected].

Thanks, I looked in the backup XML file and everything looks OK, all the specific data is there. The backup ran OK on its schedule so that is fine.

If you look at the attached image, you will see that the connection is not showing, this might be because it is an SSH connection? This is what confused me, if I choose a connection it then blanks the database at the bottom of the form.

I just don't know if it is safe to leave the connection name as unspecified when editing a job, or whether I need to re-specify the connection, and then re-specify the database?

OK .. now I understand. The 'connection name' is not used by SJA – only the SQLyog GUI executable uses it. Connection names are stored in SQLyog.ini and not in jobfiles.
