hmmm .. I have been using Win7 64 bit for more than a year and never saw this error.
1) It looks like you are using HTTP tunnel. Please confirm and please ensure that Internet Explorer is configured for allowing access to the Internet (the IE settings will have effect for all programs using native Windows .dll's – and thus also SQLyog)
2) doublecheck your HTTP-settings. Connect to the tunneling URL with a browser and tell/check if the tunneler page opens. Also read the help-file .. 'getting started' paragraph on HTTP-tunnelling and check if you missed something. If you will allow us to check your settings please create a support ticket and attach screenshots of both the 'MySQL' and the 'HTTP' tabs. Fake the username and/or password if you want.
3) Try to reboot Windows.
4) Tell if this problem suddenly occured (and it has worked before) or if it is the first time you use SQLyog (with or without HTTP tunneling). Also if you have an option to access more servers is this happening with all of them or only a single one?

.. and explain *step by step* what this “after selecting some tab in Connect to dialog” means.

I tried a google search with “A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows”
(you will find the same report with other programs – like Firefox, Photoshop and more).
Possible reason (from a Microsoft supporter):
“This can be caused by an add-on that isn’t compatible with Internet Explorer. You can test this with Internet Explorer (No add-ons ..”
Please try to disable all your IE extensions/add-ons. If that helps next enable them one-by-one and try to start SQLyog each time.

Sorry, I forgot that SQLyog normally runs in elevated permission mode.
Sorry again for my bad English.
Following steps make SQLyog hanging when I start SQLyog without elevation:
1. Connect to MySQL Host windows appears.
2. Click on any tab except default (MySQL).
Application hangs immediately. No process (like plink.exe) is created.

Sorry, I missed this post.
I disabled all IE extensions, and SQLyog is not hanging now!
Thank you

Good. But if you can identify which extension caused the problem we would like to know!

It's strange, but bug appears again.
I disabled all add-ons in both x86 and x64 IE versions (by the way, I have IE8, not IE9 beta), and bug appears randomly now: sometimes tabs are displayed without hanging, but sometimes SQLyog hangs. I can't identify why this behavior does not reproduce every time I open the application. I opened SQLyog 5 or 6 times repeatedly, 3 times it hangs.

I do not exclude the possibility that the reason is some (poorly programmed) spyware – like a BHO (browser helper object). Please check this.

Sorry for long silence.
I disabled all BHO, but application is still hanging.

Please try temporarily to disable all Kaspersky software and see if it makes any difference.
