About all GUI components are affected by display issues probably relating to high display resolution. These issues are severe enough to render the application to the point of in-usability.

The attached screen capture speaks for itself. The second attachment is meant as reference material.

The object browser background colour is configurable through the connection manager dialog. This is a great feature, if not the foreground colour is still fixed to the system colour window text. On high contrast desktop themes this leads to either white or yellow text on white.

Also it is a great feature that the text colours and fonts can now be set through the preferences for the editor etcetera. But here the background colour is fixed to always be rendered in bright white. Which is not only straining for the eyes is used over a longer time span for most people. But is inaccessible for people with impaired vision requiring a higher contrast with darker background.

      please detail:

      1) What is 'high display resolution' in your case?

      2) Is this introduced in 8.3 and not the case in 8.22?

Since I had not used and updated Sqlyog on this computer an recently received a new monitor I had not used 8.22 (or any 8.2 version). 8.22 about has the same issues. At a glance only the object browser in this version is always white text on a whitish background. The version used previously without these major display issues was downloaded around 2008, not sure which version.
