Yesterday, I started SQLyog an error popped up on the screen I didn't catch and when SQLyog started all the connections were missing. Fortunately I had moved form my old XP machine a couple of months ago and was able to copy and paste most of the connection items in. It would help in such circumstances if SQLyog made a backup of the SQLyog.ini each time it was changed?

hmmm .. I think we had one or two more reports like that. But we do not understand what error could cause this. It looks like some buffer gets cleared and next file was saved from an empty buffer.  Let us analyze this.  Maybe we can simply create a .bak before opening the file.

What AV system and similar software do you use?

I use Sophos. I checked the event log for anything that might have told me what the error message was but there's nothing – nothing in the Sophos log either. At the time I wasn't concentrating as I was trying to finish a project. Could kick myself for not grabbing it.

Rebooting the box has resolved the crashing.
