I've been an avid Sqlyog user for a while and it has performed very well for me on all computers i have tested it on in the past.
At home i have it running on Windows 7 without a hitch. However i recently obtained a new laptop which is also running Windows 7 now and i needed Sqlyog installed.
It installed fine, and launched fine. However after closing it down it now crashes on startup every single time. I have tried wiping the sqlyog directory from
/roaming/appdata and upgrading to the 8.13 beta with no luck. No matter what i try i cannot get it to launch successfully again. Attaching the dump file.
Here is the problem signature in case that is of any help:
Code:Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: SQLyog.exe
Application Version: 1.0.0.1
Application Timestamp: 4a2dfc86
Fault Module Name: SHFOLDER.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.0.2900.2180
Fault Module Timestamp: 411096b8
Exception Code: c0000096
Exception Offset: 0000353fIt would seem that a windows component is actually crashing, but i don't understand why on this computer and not the other.
Any help or ideas would be most welcome.

You are right that SHFOLDER.dll is a Microsoft component (it is a redistributable dll).
* Are the 2 systems 32 bit or 64 bit Win7?
* Could you try to remove/rename the installation folder as well (“c:program filessqlyog..” on 32 bit and “c:program files (x86)sqlyog..” on 64 bit) and install again if you did not already.

One system is 64bit (works just fine) and the one with the issue is 32bit.
I deleted the install folder (it was empty) along with the appdata files and in addition i deleted all registry entries leftover related to sqlyog. No dice.
I did however notice that the dumpfile has a different size each time, so attaching a zip with 3 of them now.

I wonder if you have a System Restore Point available from before this started happening you could return to?

No restorepoint handy. I'll most likely do a reinstall of the OS in the not too distant future however and migrate to 64bit.
