      Hi, running 8.12 enterprise now, but had this problem forever.

      When I'm editing table data and enter “default” string into any text field, it saves it as empty, I'm guessing a default value for this column.

      Is that by design?

      Yes – but you can turn it off (in tools .. preferences .. others tab) or enclose 'smart keywords' in `backticks`.
