      Hi There,

I having problems connecting to my hosted DB. My host provider uses CPanel as it GUI interface. i cannot find any information on this about mysql sever so i assume by just putting in the shared ip address in the host address box will suffice. Regarding the username i set up a new user and password to access the db. I have also entered the DB name. with all this done im still getting the 1045 error. I have read a couple of posta on the forum but none of them seem to help me solve my problem. Im confused about Access hosts (wildcard Allowed?) Do i need to use these? Do i need to use tunneling?

Thanks for any help in advance 🙂

“Im confused about Access hosts” So am I!

      Please study relevant FAQs:

      1) http://www.webyog.com/faq/content/23/18/en…on-denied-.html

.. are you sure that direct connection to the server is allowed? if not and if you cannot allow remote access for this user you need to use tunnelling!

      2) This

      http://www.webyog.com/faq/content/16/66/en…-at-an-isp.html

.. is frequently a problem with shared hosting. But not for you. You get an AUTHENTICATION ERROR (from the MySQL server) – not a CONNECTION error (from the client)
