I've created an Amazon RDS mysql database instance and I'm told it's running in the Amazon console.
Am I then able to use SQLyog to remotely connect and manage it? I've tried punching in the server, username, password, but on connect I receive an error:
Error no 2003
Can't coonect to MySQL server on
'server address here'
Is it just not possible? Or perhaps I'm missing some setting somewhere along the way? Any pointers would be appreciated! 🙂
It looks like you need to add your IP to the DB Security Groups in the Amazon Console. How this would work for dynamic IPs I'm not sure.
Maybe this blog will also help?
(but it is 4 years old, so Amaxon's interface may have changed since then)
Thanks Peter 🙂
